Naway Yila Buradja
Today Brings Tomorrow
Naway Yila Buradja, our Dhurga language from Yuin Country on the NSW South Coast means 'Today Brings Tomorrow'
Founded in 2021 as part of our native foods farm and native produce supply business, Today Brings Tomorrow is based on the concept of what we plant today and how we care for Country, will provide for us tomorrow.
Our Farm
Our native foods farm is located on Tinja Farm in Mudgee, home of Lowe Family Wine Co and Hatted restaurant Zinhouse, owned and operated by David Lowe and Kim Currie.
Through the generosity of David and Kim, we have access to 12hectares of farmland that we use for growing our very own native foods, with a focus on native foods endemic to the area of the Wiradjuri people.
Our partnership extends beyond growing foods, with a major focus of ours being to rehabilitate this section of Tinja Farm which has been heavily eroded due to various management and farming practices for the past 200 years, since the land was taken from Wiradjuri custodianship.
Our objective is to use the native foods that we grow, along with other native plants, grasses, shrubs and trees so that we can recreate a natural environment while repairing the land on which we work.
Our Brand
Naway Yila Buradja is more than a brand for us, it represents the our ancestors, our cultural and our way of living. Everything that we do with our farm and how we operate this business is for the future, in rehabilitating the land that we work on, growing foods now that wont be harvestable for years and regrowing a habitat that we wont see the benefit of in our lifetime but will future proof this section of the farm for generations to come.
